Alun Wyn Jones and Dan Biggar will both achieve major milestones during the Wales Six Nations final against Italy.

Jones, 36 years old, has recovered from a shoulder injury. In his first game since October, Jones will win his 150th Wales cap.

Biggar keeps the captaincy. He will become the seventh Welshman who has won 100 caps for his country.

The 31-year old follows Jones, Gethin Jenkins and Stephen Jones.

Wayne Pivac, the head coach, has made seven adjustments to the team that was defeated 13-9 by France last Friday.

Johnny McNicholl (recalled in the backline), Louis Reeszmit, Willis Halaholo, Gareth Davies, and Dillon Lewis, Dewi lake, and Alun Wynsey are the forwards who make their way in.

Alex Cuthbert (Liam Williams), Jonathan Davies (Tomos Williams), Tomos Williams, Ryan Elias. Tomas Francis, Will Rowlands and Ryan Elias all drop out of the starting team.

Milestone men

Northampton fly half Biggar will be back as captain, with partner scrumhalf Davies. Davies has replaced Tomos Williams who suffered a head injury.

Biggar marked his 100th international appearance with his Wales caps, which were supplemented by three British or Irish Tests in February’s victory over Scotland.

Alun Wyn Jones, world record holder for caps, starts in the second row alongside Opsreys teammate Adam Beard. Will Rowlands is on the bench.

Jones, a veteran lock, has defied all medical predictions and made an immediate return to action for the second time in less that a year.

After quickly recovering from a shoulder injury, he was able to captained the Lions against South Africa last summer.

Jones was also injured in the autumn Test against New Zealand, which he suffered from a shoulder problem. He required two operations. Many forecasts indicated that Jones would not be able to play this season.

Jones is back, and he’s set to win his 150th Wales Cap alongside his 12 Lions tests to increase his international appearance record to 162 internationals.

Pivac stated that Dan and Al are big players in Wales and have been doing so for many years.

“We’ve shared with other players the accomplishment of reaching 100 appearances. Dan knows he has been waiting for this moment for a while.

“For him, to achieve it together with Al, and who is also getting 150 caps – which no other player ever did – I believe it’s fitting that those two share the day.

They have a strong respect for one another and have played a lot together in rugby. They’ve done so much to help the game in Wales.”
