Siwan Lillicrap from Wales has tested positive to Covid 10 days prior to the Women’s Six Nations.

Lillicrap was supposed to be there for the official launch of this tournament in London on Wednesday. However, he had to withdraw the following morning.

Number eight, 34, has returned home and will now be subject to protocols of isolation, testing, and monitoring.

The campaign of Wales against Ireland opens in Dublin on 26 March.

Lillicrap was leading Wales in a Six Nations Warm-up defeat 31-23 against USA Falcons at Llanelli on March 12.

This was Wales’s first appearance since 12 professional players signed professional contracts. 11 other retainer agreements were also in effect.
