Three minutes into Loughborough Lightning’s first September game, Emily Scarratt fell on her right leg.

After breaking her leg in September and sustaining a broken foot, Emily Scarratt is set to return to England’s Women’s Six Nations squad later this month.

Simon Middleton, head coach, has also recall Gloucester-Hartpury scrumhalf Natasha Hunt who has not played since 2020 for the Red Roses.

After missing last fall’s injury, Bryony Cleall, Wasps prop, and Vicky Fleetwood from Saracens back row are back.

On 26 March, England will face Scotland to defend its Six Nations title.

The uncapped trio of May Campbell and Emma Sing are also eligible for call-ups, even though all three previously spent time in England.

Middleton’s last chance to see his team in tournament conditions is at the Six Nations.

England is bidding for a fourth consecutive Six Nations title. They are also one of the favorites to win the World Cup, having beaten New Zealand twice this autumn.

Before the opener in Edinburgh, the head coach challenged his players and stated that how they perform on the most important stages was crucial to him.

Scarratt, the World Player of the Year 2019, will return to the team. Her extensive experience will add depth to the squad.

Hunt was a star for her club team in the Premier 15s this past year and has now been included.

Before injury, her last match was at the 2020 autumn internationals. She then spent some time with the Great Britain Sevens team at Tokyo Olympics.
