Sources: Pittsburgh Steelers to Promote Omar Khan for the GM Position

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers According to sources, Omar Khan is expected to be the next general manger.

Khan was selected by the Steelers after interviewing over a dozen candidates for general manager. Khan has been with the Steelers for more than 20 years. Khan started his career with the Steelers in 2001 as a football operations coordinator and was elevated to director of football administration in 2011. The last six seasons he was Vice president of football administration and business administration.

Khan was a favourite during an exhaustive search that also included interviews from Brandon Hunt, Steelers’ director pro scouting. Kevin Colbert, the Steelers’ outgoing general manager, announced that he would be retiring after the 2021 season. However, he left open the possibility of remaining in an advisory position after more than twenty years with the Steelers.
