After next year’s World Cup, Steven Kitshoff, a South African prop, will join Ulster in a three-year contract.

He was 30, and the Springbok has been capped 73 more times by his country, helping them win the World Cup 2019.

He began in the Irish loss in Dublin on Saturday last week.

Kitshoff will arrive in the Irish province from Stormers after the 2023 tournament. It will take place in France in September or October.

He led the Stormers to their inaugural United Rugby Championship title, defeating South African rivals the Bulls in final.

This loosehead is a significant boost to Ulster’s front line, which was further bolstered last month with the arrival of Lion Rory Sutherland from Britain and Ireland on a one year deal.

Kitshoff stated, “It’s obvious that Ulster’s on an exciting journey. It’s one I want to be part of.”

“After some significant wins, it’s my ambition that I can be part of the squad that secures silverware for the Province.

“I look forward to moving to Belfast next year.

“It will be a change. However, I know that it will be a special moment for me when I step out in an Ulster jersey in front a Kingspan Stadium home crowd.
