Coach Sean McVay was asked Monday if Higbee would be able to continue practicing in the next few days due to his injured knee.
McVay stated, “We’ll watch.” McVay said, “He’s been such an integral part of this team, and he was one of the glue guys on this team, and I know that he will do everything in his power. But if not, he has led that room — he [tight ends coach]Wes Phillips has been a great leader in that room – and the other guys will be up for it. But, we’ll take things one day at time with Tyler.
Higbee broke his MCL in Rams’ win against the San Francisco 49ersIn the NFC Championship Game, and was listed as non-participant on all three days. The team was required by law to release a report last week. They didn’t practice Wednesday but held a walkthrough on Thursday so participation was only an estimate.
Backup offensive lineman Joe NoteboomAll of last week, (chest), was also listed as non-participant.
McVay stated that Higbee, Noteboom and other men are “just taking it one day at a while.” They’re doing their best to be available, and I’ll likely be able to provide a better answer once we get closer to the game. They’re still the same guys.
Higbee was second on team with 61 catches for 560 yards and five touchdowns. This happened in 15 regular-season matches. In the NFC title match, Higbee played 14 snaps. He also caught two passes of 18 yards.
