Rob Herring, a Rob Timoney player from Ireland, has signed a contract extension that will keep them at Ulster through at least the summer 2025.

Last season, Timoney’s versatile back-row was the top performer in the United Rugby Championship tackle charts.

The 27-year-old stated, “We’ve got a remarkably exciting group – we’re looking forward to see what we can do,”

Herring, a Cape Town-born hooker, has won more than 200 caps in Ulster since he joined the province in 2012.

He said, “I’m thrilled to sign on again to Ulster. A province I’m really proud of representing.”

“The club is filled with great people, from players to support staff. Their standards and desire to win are high. It’s something that I am excited to be part of for the next few seasons.”

Timoney and Herring will be in the Ireland squad at the November internationals in Dublin.

“Both Nick, Rob are examples of the pace and physicality we want from our forwards,” stated Dan McFarland, Ulster head coach.

“They are top-class players on the pitch, and they demonstrate that week after week for the club as well as in international settings.”
