James Hume will make his Ulster debut as they make nine adjustments for the United Rugby Championship battle with Munster.

Hume will be available from the Ireland A team for Saturday’s match at Thomond Park, where he replaces Stuart McCloskey.

Last weekend’s game against the Sharks was postponed due to illness to 29 Ulster players.

From the victory over the Lions in South Africa one week earlier, the backs were retained by Luke Marshall and Billy Burns.

Stewart Moore, Ben Moxham, and Hume replace Ireland squad members Michael Lowry and Robert Baloucoune. Ethan McIlroy, Nathan Doak, and Rob Lyttle were drafted in.

Captain Alan O’Connor is retained with fellow lock Sam Carter, back rows David McCann & Duane Vermeulen.

The front row of the Lions game is completely different as Marty Moore and Andy Warwick take over from Eric O’Sullivan. Marty Moore, Tom Stewart, and Tom Stewart are replaced by Gareth Milasinovich and Rob Herring, both members of Ireland’s squad.

Sean Reffell is the summer recruit who will replace Marcus Rea in back row.

Cooney and Milasinovich are both named on the bench having started two weeks ago. Rory Sutherland, a recent addition from Worcester, Scotland, is set to make his debut after being included among the replacements.

Graham Rowntree, Munster’s coach, also makes nine changes to their 27-13 loss by Leinster, with Ireland squad members Joey Carbery and Conor Murray among those who have dropped out.

The starting line-up includes other members of Ireland’s squad, including Tadhg Beirne, Calvin Nash and Peter O’Mahony. However, international caps Shane Daly and Dave Kilcoyne as well as Rory Scannell and John Ryan.

Munster’s international team includes Niall Scannell, Simon Zebo, and Roman Salanoa. Like Kilcoyne and Daly, the fly-half Jack Crowley is also part of the Ireland’s A squad for next week’s match against an All Blacks team.

Moore, Ulster prop was also included in Ireland’s A squad.

Evan O’Connell is 18 years old, the nephew of Munster’s great Paul O’Connell. If he makes his debut in Saturday’s game, he will be the youngest player of their professional era.
