After receiving permission from the Rugby Football Union, Worcester Warriors’ women’s side were given enough funding to start the Allianz Premier 15s Campaign.
Warriors remains in administration, with the view to a proposed sale.
Cube International, a Worcestershire-based business, has now offered funding to help the women start their season.
The assets and entitlements of the Warriors women’s operation have been temporarily acquired by a local Kempsey-based promotion and sports management business.
Warriors Women are now able to begin the delayed season Sunday by going to The Stoop to play Harlequins.
After the RFU reinstated the club’s license to compete, and their return in action in the Allianz Cup. Jo Yapp, women’s director for rugby, and Josh Payne were able to confirm that they have the financial backing to continue playing until Christmas.
At that point, it is hoped a deal will be struck for the entire club (men’s, womens, and academy) to be purchased by Atlas Worcester Warriors RFC. the preferred bidders Begbies Traynor, administrators, selected.
Warriors’ women’s team will face Sale on Sunday 27th November at 13:00 GMT.
