Baldur’s Gate 3: 2022 Will Be The Last Full Year of Development

Baldur’s Gate 3 will soon be released, as Larian, its developer has indicated that it will be its last year of development.

Swen Vincke, the studio head, told PCGamesN that while his priority is to make the game the best possible, he anticipates Larian will be released in full within the next year.

He said: “We’re going to release it when it’s ready. Quality is the main objective here: getting the game to the level it needs.

“But, we believe we still have a year to accomplish that. It will be the final year. We’re getting to the end of it.”

Vincke stated that Baldur’s Gate 3’s full-release is not expected to happen until next year.

Although this is uncertain, Larian indicated in June last year that Early Access wouldn’t be closed until 2022. So, the official launch seems to be getting closer.

The Early Access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 released in October 2020 with several dozens of hours of content, and IGN said it was “probably the closest a story-focused RPG of this kind has come to emulating the experience of tabletop Dungeons & Dragons.”
