Demon’s Souls PS5 Make Seems Like It Still Has Undiscovered Items — But They May Never Be Discovered

Four items in Demon’s Souls on PlayStation 5 seemingly remain undiscovered, despite the game being released more than a year ago – but a prominent dataminer says they may be completely unobtainable.

Lance McDonald, who has previously shared secrets from Bloodborne and God of War, said that he knew the items existed in the game code, but didn’t know how or if it was possible to get them.

Mcdonald stated in the tweet (below): “Bluepoint Games has added a number new items to Demon’s Souls Remake which still remain unknown.”

He said, in a follow up, “If I could get them myself,” I just know that they exist in the data. Perhaps I will be able to solve the PS5 jailbreak if I get it. For now, all I know is that there are four undiscovered items.

IGN was able to speak with McDonald’s, who did not reveal how or why he knew the names of the items. However, he speculated that Bluepoint Games could have chosen not to include them in the final game.

He said, “They could have invented the items completely and decided not to make it possible to actually find them.” It is impossible to determine the truth at this time.

“Bluepoint added many items such as ceramic coins and gold coins to its inventory, along with the penetrator armor, grain, and ceramic coins. They have all been well documented, but some of them were very difficult to find. There are only four other things I know that no one can access.

Bluepoint’s additions made no significant difference to Demon’s Souls’ original fabric, however interesting they may have been. The ceramic and gold coins provide mild, temporary increases and can be traded to NPCs for additional items. Grains are temporary fire-resistant, and most other items are also basic consumables.

The most significant change is the inclusion the Penetrator armor set. This can only be obtained by trading ceramic coins for a key and then unlocking the door behind a hidden wall in an early level. Fans have been stumped for weeks.

Many fans have speculated that the hidden objects could be another set of armour, as Demon’s Souls’ armour is comprised of four pieces. The Penetrator set is so intricately hidden within the game that it would not surprise if they hadn’t been discovered yet.

McDonald’s stated that “it’s difficult to say” if these items can be found or are completely out of bounds. He stated that he did not know the feelings of Bluepoint about disrupting the flow and remakes of old games. “I believe it is 50/50.”

McDonald’s spent three years scouring through Bloodborne files in 2018. He found a lot of unutilized assets, including characters and enemies. It is possible that this could also be the case here.

Hidetaka Mikazaki from FromSoftware – the man behind Bloodborne and Souls games – confirmed that Dark Souls was cleaned out after four years. This means that even if items were found in Demon’s Souls, it could be some time before they are.

Demon’s Souls first appeared in 2009, and was released by FromSoftware. It continues on the difficult but rewarding path of its RPGs. Soon, Elden Ring will be added to this lineage, along with Dark Souls and Bloodborne and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.

IGN said Demon’s Souls on PS5 was just as good as the original. “A touch of smart quality-of-life changes and beautiful visuals go a long ways in modernizing this hard PS3 classic.”

Like its predecessors, Elden Ring will be full of secrets. However, IGN has everything covered with our evolving guide. It will cover everything, from bosses to dungeons to the best loot.
