A video posted to the official Final Fantasy Twitter account earlier this week suggested that the famous train suplexing scene in Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster would lack a certain level of suplex-ness.
You can see that the train doesn’t flip over.

This is the context of the scene. Sabin drops back to earth with the train upside down.
The classic Final Fantasy 6 scene of Suplexing the Train has been a favorite and most memorable. It’s understandable. Your party is literally running away from a giant sentient ghost railway train. The resident monk martial arts Sabin uses the move Meteor Strike to damage the train. He lifts the train off the ground, flips it upside down, and suplexes the whole thing.
We’re still hard at work polishing Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster in time for launch next week, and we saw some of your comments that the Phantom Train didn’t flip during Meteor Strike. The video was taken using a pre-release version. It will be adjusted just in time to launch!

It was not surprising that many fans were outraged by the incident and made comments about it in the video. After enough protest, the account issued a statement explaining that the video of the train not flipping was due to a prerelease version. In fact, the train will flip at launch.
Although it is a strange thing for a social media account to post a video of an iconic scene, even though the scene hasn’t been completed yet, Square Enix is determined to bring out all of the effects of a train being suppressed for release.
Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster has a new release date, February 23rd on Steam and Mobile. This is after it was delayed from 2021 to allow for more polish. Previous Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters launched with several bugs that required patches after launch.
