Cyberpunk 2077 will get a next-generation update for PS5 and Xbox Series X starting today. This update is free for all platforms and available now.
During the Livestream of CD Projekt RED, it was revealed the patch should be available immediately. While the patch will take some time to roll out, it should be available shortly. You can download the patch as well as the free trial immediately by reading the tips below.
Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 Update: Restart your console and download the update
Patch 1.5 will be available for all platforms. It is a massive 50GB update. This patch will include many new features and fixes, as well as the next-gen updates to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
To ensure that the update is applied to your Xbox, restart it completely. This will trigger the update for your Xbox. (I can confirm this works for me and my Xbox is currently downloading it). To manually download PlayStation 5’s version, you will need to go to your library (it will display a PS5 logo beside it).
Cyberpunk 2077’s 5-Hour Free Trial
The Cyberpunk 2077 5-hour trial is one of the most exciting news from the CD Projekt RED Livestream. It’s available on both Xbox Series X/S as well as PS5. Similar to the 1.5 patch, it will be available on February 15th and will likely roll out soon to your console. For a free trial, restart your console and visit the Xbox Store or PS Store.
While it won’t contain the entire game, PS5 and Xbox Series S console owners will now have access to a 5-hour trial. This is great news if you were concerned about possible performance issues in the initial game release in 2020. All your progress from the trial will be available if you decide to buy the game.

The game is currently not available for re-release or new art online. However, Walmart still has the game at a discounted price of $26. If you prefer to shop digitally, the PS Store has it for $24.99 or Xbox Store at $229.99.
