Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico Steps Down

[ad_1]

Tommy Tallarico was the founder and CEO of Intellivision Entertainment since its formation in 2018. He will be succeeded by Phil Adam, former chief revenue officer.

According to the company, Tallarico will continue to be the president of the company and its largest shareholder.

Adam stated, “As a 30-plus year industry executive I am excited about transitioning into the CEO position at Intellivision.” Tommy feels it is important to give Tommy the roles he enjoys, as the business is closing in on its last phase before launch. As usual, we will work hand in hand to bring Amico on the market.

IGN received a statement from Intellivision stating that the management shift coincided with the start of production of the Intellivision Amico. It also stated that the move was made “to better align its resources to those new challenges.”

Intellivision announced three delays to the Amico’s launch since October 2020, when the console was originally scheduled to launch. The console was not released in the wild until February 2022, although it was recently extended to the end 2021. IGN Middle East had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the console in May 2021.

Intellivision announced that the console has 6,000 pre-orders and would soon be distributed. In October 2021, Amico boxes went on sale. These included Evil Knievel (Dynablaster), Missile Command (Rigid Force), Redux Enhanced Moon Patrol, Finnigan Fox and Biplanes.

Tallarico himself has been a controversial figure, publicly going after journalists who have reported on or critiqued the Amico on numerous occasions and once prompting the SEC to ask for clarification after he boasted that the co-founder of Xbox — who had already left Intellivision Entertainment — was working for the company. Tallarico replied to IGN’s request for comment and said that the move would allow him “to stay focused on creativity and continue the vision and focus upon the games and hardware.”
