Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a big Mario Kart title that features retro and new courses. It has 48 tracks. Nintendo has doubled that number, announcing today that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will get 48 more retro courses as DLC.
This kart racer from Nintendo will feature 96 tracks, more than any Mario Kart track ever made.
You can see 170 tracks throughout the franchise if you look at both the main console Mario Kart games as well as the mobile Mario Kart Tour. This includes retro courses and the Mario Kart Arcade game series.
Here is a breakdown of the original courses in each Mario Kart game.
- Super Mario Kart: 20
- Mario Kart 64: 16
- Mario Kart: Super Circuit: 20
- Mario Kart: Double Dash: 16
- Mario Kart DS: 16
- Mario Kart Wii: 16
- Mario Kart 7: 16

It will be a while before Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hits the mark. The Booster Course DLC will be released in six waves between 2022 and 2023. We know that the first wave will arrive on March 18th, with eight courses.
