New York Game Awards 2022 Winners Announced

New York Game Awards 2022 Winners have been Announced. Psychonauts 2, who won in the Best Game category, has taken the top honor.

The 11th Annual New York Game Awards took places overnight. This virtual event celebrated the best games and actors of the past year, as well as journalists and esports players. Psychonauts 2, which was awarded Best Game of Year, and the Statue of Liberty Award as Best World, emerged as the main winner of the night.

Sable from Shedworks won two trophies that night. One for Best Music, the other for Best Indie Game. Shedworks was nominated alongside Genesis Noir and Death’s Door. Capcom’s Resident Evil series was also recognized at the event. Maggie Robertson was honored for her role of Lady Dimitrescu (Resident Evil Village).

IGN is delighted to announce that Rebekah Valentin, an investigative journalist, was awarded the Knickerbocker Award For Best Games Journalism. Valentine had been nominated for the award among a select group of creative people.

This is not the only list of winners. Double Fine founder Tim Schafer was also the recipient of an Andrew Yoon Legendary Award At this year’s New York Game Awards. This award is given each year to an individual who has demonstrated “a substantial, sustained body of work that demonstrates exceptional achievement and innovation.”

IGN’s review on Psychonauts 2 by IGN is a great way to learn more about the New York Game Awards Game of the Year. Double Fine has done a wonderful job expanding the universe towards both “grander” and “more intimate without losing the joyous childhood adventure vibes.” It also praises the “weird, wonderfully written story” with “interesting, nuanced people.”
