What Are Pokemon Violet and Scarlet?
Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will be the next pair in mainline Pokemon games. They’re not remakes, like Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. They’re not genre-expanding spinoffs, like Pokemon Legends: Arceus. But that’s not to say they don’t push the series forward. These are open-world games in which “various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness.”
Scarlet and Violet are set in a new area, where Pokemon can be found all around. This time, the starters are the Grass Cat Sprigatito and the Fire Croc Fuecoco. They all are IMO incredibly adorable.
The developer hasn’t announced all the differences between the two versions, but we do know you’ll wear different outfits depending on which you choose. Pokemon Scarlet requires you to wear red shorts and a tie, while Violet will require you to wear purple.
