Warcraft Movie Director Wants a Full Throttle Film

“We would all love to hear your stories. [Disney] how much you’d love them to let me make Full Throttle for [Disney+], that would be adorable and I’d be very appreciative,” he said.

Full Throttle first appeared in 1995. It tells Ben’s story about a biker gang leader who is caught up in a bizarre conspiracy of murders, mayhem, motorbikes, and mayhem. It’s a classic of the point-and-click adventure genre, and for many gamers of a certain age, was an introduction to gaming.

Full Throttle was remade by Double Fine in 2017. Full throttle: Remastered.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Jones has expressed interest in the property. Back last year, he penned a ‘fan script’ during a difficult period working on another project.

“I enjoy writing,” he said. “I also hate writing. Sometimes, when I can’t squeeze out the thing I want to write, I write something else. This has happened a lot during Covid.”

Tim Schafer, Full Throttle creator, posted a link to a fan-made reconstruction by Red KnucklesJones found inspiration to create his own video on Vimeo.

“It blew my mind!” he said. “I LOVED that game. That game was a real treat. This is what I wrote the next time I got one of those freezes. […]Fan script for LucasArts’ classic, FULL TROTTLE. Enjoy.”

Jones made Jones’ complete script available to be read via dropboxThe script adapts the adventure classic and uses many famous lines from the videogame. An instant fan hit if you ask me.

Unfortunately, Disney has not yet taken Jones up on his offer.

But with the game offering a hugely cinematic experience, I can’t help wondering whether it’s only a matter of time before we see Full Throttle on the big screen.

Director Duncan Jones also described the Warcraft sequels he envisions. Legendary has yet to comment on whether a sequel is possible.
