The Best Case: The Boston Celtics Last season, they made it to the NBA Finals. Their best case scenario would be to take the next step and win it all. When it came to Net Rating, the Celtics were the best team in the NBA last season. Despite their slow start, the Celtics have been able to improve upon it. Phoenix Suns The season ended with a higher Net Rating. Boston’s defense was outstanding last season thanks to Defensive Players of the Year. Marcus Smart The big man Robert Williams III. The addition Malcolm Brogdon With the continuous development of Jayson Tatum Jaylen Brown This team has one of the most talented all-around teams in the NBA. Boston is the team with the lowest odds of winning the NBA title (+575) in this season. That should give you an idea of their “best case” scenario.

Worst case: This is a bit awkward. The Ime Udoka issue has cast a huge and unanticipated shadow over the franchise and its hopes for winning the title. It’s difficult to know or predict how this will affect the teams efficiency and ability win this season. How important is a head coaching position to a team that is in the title running? One cynical viewpoint is that players can’t compartmentalize the chaos behind the scenes and it impacts their play on court. Assistive anchor Robert Williams III He is out for between 8-12 weeks after knee surgery. Given his unique talents, it would be a major blow to this team if he doesn’t return or returns in a compromised way. This team could be out of the playoffs by missing the playoffs or being eliminated early. The East is strong and deep this year.
The bet: Jayson Tatum OVER 26.5 PPG
Bet on Spin: I am not interested in betting on this team in future markets due to the instability of the Ime Udoka market. But, I think we can still isolate certain players using confident handicapping. Brogdon is an underrated NBA guard. His preseason price of +200 was a great way to win the 6th Man of Year award. Tatum is clearly a young star who continues to improve his offensive arsenal every offseason. After the bitter loss in the Finals I want him to have an offensive year that is better than ever. It’s why many of my friends would like him win MVP. I’ll take the OVER for his 26.5 PPG scoring prop. He has been increasing his scoring in every season that he has played in this league, and he topped out last season at 26.9 points per game.
