Chicago Bulls’ Lonzo ball to have knee surgery, expected out 6-8 weeks

Chicago BullsGuard Lonzo BallThe team announced that he has decided to have arthroscopic surgery on the left knee. He will be out of work for six to eight weeks.

A source said that Ball will be traveling to California to undergo an arthroscopic procedure in order to repair a meniscus tear.

Sources said that Rich Paul, Klutch Sports CEO, had spoken to doctors about options. However, the decision was made after a recent nonsurgical treatment change meant that Ball could not play with what’s being called a slight meniscus tear.

Ball has been out of action for three games after suffering from what the Bulls initially believed was a bone injury. His knee was still not fully healing from the initial treatment. The team already had him out of its three-game road trip.

Bulls coach Billy Donovan said Wednesday night that Ball had undergone a change in treatment for his knee. Doctors were still waiting to determine how Ball would respond to the new treatment.

Ball underwent a procedure to repair a meniscus tear in the same knee in July 2018, and was back for training camp. Los Angeles Lakers.

He averages 13 points and 5.4 rebounds, with 5.1 assists, in 35 games during his first season in Chicago.
