TORONTO — The Toronto Maple LeafsThe No. 1 goaltender Jack CampbellSheldon Keefe stated that she will be out for the next two weeks due to a rib injury after Thursday’s morning session.
Keefe claimed that Campbell, 30, “tweaked” something a while back. Then, Campbell aggravated it during Tuesday’s 26-save performance in the 6-4 win over the Tigers. Seattle Kraken.
Keefe explained that “I knew he was unhappy after the game” and that Wednesday wasn’t a good day for him. “They sent him to some tests and he was eventually diagnosed with a need for time.”
Campbell’s season started well and earned him his first All-Star nod. However, he has a.865 save rate since mid-January.
Petr MrazekIn goal, he will be replacing Mrazek, who in July signed a free three-year contract. After suffering two groin injuries, Mrazek has had a difficult start to his Maple Leafs tenure. He now has a 10-5-0 record with a.890 save rate.
Erik Kallgren has been recall from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies by the Leafs. The 25-year old Swede holds a record of 15-8-1 with a.904 save percent in his first campaign for the Marlies. He is expected to be Mrazek’s backup against Arizona.
