Justin Clegg: Worcester Warriors lock signs new contract

Justin Clegg sustained a stress fracture to his back in his Warriors career.

Justin Clegg, Worcester Warriors’ lock, has signed a one-year contract.

The 25-year old came through the Warriors academy, and made his 50th appearance against the London Irish last month.

He will join centre Ashley Beck, winger Tom Howe and other players in making a commitment to the club for next year’s season. Nick Easter joins as forwards coach.

He said, “The last two season have been good for my personal,”

“It was very special to be part the winning squad for the Premiership Rugby Cup. It didn’t matter that we weren’t playing in the final, it was as important for those watching from the sidelines as for the players.

“To have been on that trip is something I will treasure.”

Worcester hosts Bath in Saturday’s final game of the season.

“Cleggy is a lock with all the right ingredients. He’s athletic and big. The job is to turn him into a Premiership player,” Steve Diamond, lead rugby consultant, stated. Diamond will take over from Alan Solomons, the former director of Sixways rugby.
