Pat Verbeek is hired as Anaheim Ducks general Manager

Pat Verbeek was appointed as the new general manger of the company. Anaheim Ducks.

The Ducks announced Thursday Verbeek would replace Bob Murray. Verbeek was accused of misconduct and resigned from his position Nov. 10. Verbeek entered a treatment program to treat alcohol abuse.

Verbeek was the host of the Verbeek Show for the past three seasons. Detroit Red Wings‘ assistant general manager under Steve Yzerman. He was also general manager for the Grand Rapids Griffins AHL affiliate of the Red Wings. Verbeek was a Yzerman employee for the past nine seasons. Murray, who had been the Ducks’ head of hockey operations since November 2008 was fired after being accused of verbal abuses of employees. When he resigned, he had the third-longest tenure among active general managers.
