Drew Sample (Cincy Bengals TE) and his wife want to extricate family members from wartorn Ukraine

CINCINNATI Cincinnati Bengals tight end Drew Sampleis trying to extricate family members from Ukraine following Russia’s invasion.

Sample and Angelina, Sample’s wife, stated to Fox News Monday morning that Angelina’s aunt and grandparents are still in the war-torn nation.

Sample explained to Fox News that Sample and his family have just tried to figure out what they could do to help them leave.

According to WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Angelina was originally from Ukraine and moved to the United States later. According to the Seattle Times, the two were together while Drew was playing at Washington University. Drew later married Angelina.

Angelina stated Monday to TV that she had kept in touch with her relatives during Russia’s military incursion that drew several international sanctions and a reprimand form the United Nations.

“We watch it on the news but, for me to just be putting my (children) down for a nap in the afternoon and I want to call my grandma, I call them up on the phone and they answer it, and they’re sitting in the dark in the basement,” Angelina Sample said Monday on “Fox & Friends.”

Drew Sample, 25 years old, just finished his third season with the NFL. Cincinnati’s reserve tight end is the second-round selection in the 2019 draft. He had 11 catches and 81 yards last season which helped the Bengals reach Super Bowl LVII for the first time since 1983. Super Bowl LVI was won by Cincinnati. Los Angeles Rams.

Sample stated Monday that her family in rural Ukraine isn’t looking to flee the country for refugee status because they don’t have any connections outside Ukraine.

According to the Bengals’ tight end, Angelina and he are part of some extended family who live in the United States.

Sample stated, “It’s hard for us because there are really no good solutions.”
