Lions’ Jack Fox signs extension to become the highest-paid punter

Sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that Fox’s new deal is worth an average $3.775 million per year.

The third-year player, who would be a restricted free agent for 2023, averages 48.8 yards this season on 16 punts with a longest at 63 yards.

Fox is leading the NFL in gross punting, at 49.1 yards per game. Fox is also second in net punting, at 43.5 yards. Fox joined the NFL in 2020 as a Pro Bowler.
